PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY Are you interested in bringing comfort to those in need or sharing in the happiness of celebrations? Do you enjoy knitting or crocheting? Then the newly formed WPC Prayer Shawl Ministry is for you! Compassion and the love of knitting and crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Prayer Shawls are hand made with many blessings prayed into each shawl. The shawls are designed to be a way of showing care and concern within the church family and in the community. Prayer Shawls are personally delivered on behalf of the church and may be given to anyone in need as determined by the giver. Fully supplied knitting or crocheting kits (including instructions, prayers and ideas) are available to anyone with the desire to create a prayer shawl. Kits can be picked up outside the church office. When the prayer shawl is completed, it is returned to the church and added to the Prayer Shawl supply basket after a personalized card and small angel are attached. The kit is resupplied and left for the next contributor. It is important to the founders of the Prayer Shawl Ministry that the origins of the ministry be honored.
