Property Ministry Team
In memoriam: Lloyd Morse who faithfully served on the property team for many years Purview of the Property Team “…I have consecrated this house which you have built by putting My name there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.” 1 Kings 9:3 The property team is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all who use our facility. We maintain and sustain our tangible assets in a way that protects people and contents, keeps pace with changing needs, and furthers the longevity of our building and grounds in service to God. Our oversight alternates between short-term and long-term needs. Tactically, we manage routine maintenance and repairs. Strategically, we consider the replacement and upgrading of systems as an investment for greater cost effectiveness, capacity, performance, or lifespan. Your 2016 Property Team Members Doris Chriswell Don Dantz Bill Hassler Steve Kennard Bob Kirchhoff Dave Pinkney Ed Plesa Lynn Malboeuf Amie McMullin We are grateful to our three Western Horizon members (members of WPC for 50+ years) – Bob Kirchhoff, Doris Chriswell, and Bill Hassler – who give us context and perspective. We are also grateful to many in the congregation who are our eyes and ears. Significant Activities and Notes Thanks to Kathy, we have an updated inventory of building keys. We had many volunteers join us in spring for grounds clean-up and meet Larry day. Property team provided epoxy paint for Phil Opdycke to repaint the backstairs and muscle room. In partnership with CE, we cleaned the classroom carpets, the closet, and the green room. In partnership with Mission, we cleaned the basement kitchen for the backpack program. We replaced the garbage disposal and dishwasher booster heater, re-plumbing some pipes. The gap between Fellowship Hall and the sidewalk was cleaned and resealed for winter. We have instituted a message board to further open communication with the congregation. We have installed 5 CO detectors throughout the facility. We continue to be blessed by the services of Larry Sprague as our custodian. We commenced a building inspection using $900 from edifice funds to inform our strategic planning. Facility Usage In 2015 there were 28 usage requests  (some requests were for multiple assets) Respectfully submitted, The Property Ministry Team
